Our Story
Harnessing the power of skills-based learning for academic success and a thriving future
Unlocking Potential
Traditional enrichment can be inconsistent and exclusive, leaving many students disengaged and unaware of their potential. We aim to bridge this gap by providing practical, enjoyable challenges that help students unlock their potential and make a positive impact.
OUR VISION

OUR MISSION
THE NEED
Successful integration of skills into our lives is overlooked and underserved by academic institutions struggling with overwork and packed schedules.
Young people miss the opportunity to develop skills in personal and professional development and for making positive contributions to the world.
Many students are overwhelmed by the daily influx of workload and information, leading to stress, disengagement, and a decline in wellbeing.
The enormity of their tasks and concerns about family, friends, and global issues leave them paralyzed and unsure of how to navigate their work, relationships and actions.
Struggling to master basic skills, students also grapple with understanding and addressing the broader challenges we all face.

Our Story
Cool Timeline

2000s
In the early 2000s, visionary educators Yasmin Sawar and Dr. Mario Peters founded Cardiff Sixth Form College and Oxford International College. These institutions have been top-ranked in the UK for A-level results for 14 consecutive years since 2010.
2010s
Yasmin pioneers a ‘super-curricular’ approach, enhancing students’ portfolios beyond academics, boosting university applications, and preparing students for future careers. Research shows Life Skills Learning improves academic performance, career aspirations, and perseverance. Yasmin and Mario also start focusing on developing excellence in schools beyond academics and consider sharing their success globally.
2019
Mario co-founds the charity Curriculum for Life (CfL) to create accessible Life Skills Learning resources for young people aged 6–18. Experts collaborate to develop materials fostering critical skills like decision-making, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. Research shows these interventions are most effective when regular, long-term, explicit, embedded, structured, and targeted.
2020
Yasmin and Mario partner with education technologist Luke Deering to launch Curriculum.com an AI-powered platform designed to enhance academic performance and reduce teacher workload globally by leveraging their school management success.
2024
Recognizing the importance of life skills, Mario, Yasmin, and Alex Catallo (CfL co-founder and educator) establish The Life Skills Institute (LSI Learning). This initiative offers unique skills-based programs for learners aged 13–24, focusing on essential skills through interactive content. By integrating these skills into daily routines, students experience personal growth and earn rewards that enhance resumes and future prospects, blending inner development with external recognition.
The innovation behind LSI Learning stems from decades of dedication to educational excellence. Today, our combined expertise has culminated in a motivational program that not only equips young people with vital life skills, but also rewards them for their progress. Backed by research that links life skills to positive outcomes in academics, employment, and well-being, LSI Learning bridges the academic gap and prepares the next generation to thrive and succeed in the world whatever challenges the future may bring.
